On the first floor of this imposing hotel you will find a large bar, the Hamnavoe Lounge, with windows and a small balcony giving a commanding view of the harbour. In winter a roaring fire and comfy settees welcome the visitor and during the season more space is given up to dining.
There is a separate whisky bar with over 100 to choose from. Used as an Army HQ during WW11, it is well placed for visiting world heritage sites such as Scara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar (board opposite hotel gives distances).
The Flattie Bar on the ground floor, complete with an actual 'flattie' hanging from the ceiling, and is open all year round when the hotel and upstairs may be closed from November to March and has a welcoming, roaring fire in winter and a good juke-box.
Annual jazz, blues and beer festivals are organised by the hotel throughout the year with the Hamnavoe Lounge being used for smaller gigs and the large function room for others.
