Welcome to your
Totnes Pub Walk

Winding through the vibrant heart of Totnes and its quieter backstreets, this walk takes in everything from riverside views and historic coaching inns to quirky taprooms and local breweries. Start at the iconic Royal Seven Stars and finish in an industrial estate with a pint brewed just metres away.

Expect a little bit of everything—great beer, laid-back charm, and a proper taste of Totnes character. Rail and bus links make getting here easy, and the route is compact enough to enjoy at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops for pints and conversation.

Start

Rail three stops including a change at Newton Abbot, or Stagecoach Bus 12 then Gold via Paignton. The buses arrive in the vicinity of the Royal Seven Stars Hotel; the railway station is about 15 minutes walk. Buses also go from Totnes to Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth.

Popular and quirky brew pub serving an eclectic range of beers. The Totnes Brewing Co. was born in 2014 after combining the Castle Inn and The Barrel House. One Totnes Brewing beer plus guests, also a good range of key-keg ales. Take-away food may be brought in.

Grade II listed 15th-century coaching inn has been in the GBG repeatedly. At the rear there is a superb, large, attractive beer garden with bench seating and a covered smoking area. Customers may bring their own food.

Named after the scientist, this old-school community focussed pub is 100 yards across the bridge in Bridgetown. The brewery tap for the Bridgetown Brewery with a suntrap beer garden at the rear.

Return to the bridge, turn right and right again at the Seven Stars and keep to the right hand side. Pass Morrisons and follow the footpath, cross the main road into the Industrial Estate.
