A large, thatched country pub believed to be about 600 years old, arguably one of the oldest in Dorset. Churchill and Eisenhower are said to have met here prior to D-day to discuss invasion plans. There is a long bar split into two, one for diners and one predominantly for drinkers with cosy fireplaces and wooden beams. For the summer months there is also an extensive garden and a play area. Dogs are welcome.
