Reopened in 2025 after having being bought by the community, Wigtownshire’s newest hostelry had over 200 years of history as a pub before closure in 2022. A traditional inn, there is a main bar and a lounge area as well as a spacious beer garden. The community are investing to bring a kitchen and letting rooms into action in the future but customers are welcome to bring their own food into the bar at present. Note that the inn is open as a community space outside of the bar opening hours. Wigtown is Scotland's National Book town. It is is well placed to explore local attractions of the Machars and coastal villages and the Cradle of Christianity in Whithorn.
