This Pub is Permanently Closed

Former Hodgson's two-bar pub, that displayed a fine selection of photograph of the area. Marketed as a going concern from early 2011, but finally closed in June 2012. Planning permission to convert the pub into housing was granted in April 2013 and the works finally started in April 2014.

Historic Interest

The pub buildings was two-storeys and in traditional local red brick and tile construction. They were Locally-Listed for their townscape merit and are characteristic of the nineteenth century. Part of the building may pre-date 1843 but there are also later additions and the roof has been replaced with more modern concrete tiles.
