This Pub is Closed Long Term

Boutique-style pub, restaurant and hotel.

Closed: March 2020. Planning Application: 20/01566 - Change of use to residential. Granted: December 2022.

Originally dating from the 17th C. this large and imposing Kentish clapboard building is nestled in the heart of the village of St. Margarets-at-Cliffe. Noel Coward and Ian Fleming have been past patrons of the hotel, within which the bar and restaurant form the Cliffe Village Pub.

The smart modern decor and polished wooden flooring gives a distinct boutique and comfortable feel to The Cliffe, creating a pleasant ambiance to have a drink or a meal.

The bar serves a variety of gravity-fed ales (served from the small cool room), KeyKeg beers and real ciders.

Everything you eat and drink is likely to have been sourced locally. From the Kentish ales and ciders, to locally caught fish and shell fish, meat from local farms and coffee, which is roasted in Canterbury.

At the back there is a pleasant walled garden with plenty of seating for the summer months.

As well as the regular lunch and dinner menus, breakfast is served in the morning and Kentish cream teas during the afternoon. From Easter to September pop-up pizzas are served on Sunday from the wood-fired oven in the garden.

There are occasional live music events.
