The Walton Arms was previously the School Lane Club and converted to a pub in 2015. There are 3 distinct areas around the central bar comprising a 'main bar', 'sports bar' and The Ashcroft Room. The latter is available as a function room for up to 75. There is also a large function room on the first floor accommodating up to 250. The interior décor is in a retro style described as Steampunk.

Food is generally limited to a range of gourmet pork pies although a full catering service is provided for functions by sister pub The Withy Arms. There is a Northern Soul night on the first Saturday of each month and a free Old School Disco on the last Saturday. There are 4 regularly changing beers often sourced from local microbreweries.
