Historic Interest
Dating back to at least 1864 when it was known as Jackson's Vale Hotel - see the advert. Bought by Mellors (a Liverpool brewery) which ceased brewing in 1946 and as taken over by Higsons. It continued to operate as a Higsons pub into the 1990s. Described in 1990 as a small two bar local with pool table and live music on some nights, serving Higsons Mild and Bitter by handpump. Closed sometime between 2010 and 2011. Three photos from October 2016 as the building was being prepared for conversion to residential use show the old signage for Mellors Vale Hotel.
