A typically large 1970s estate pub serving the local community. An interior and exterior redecoration in 2010 signalled the transfer of business from Marston’s to Admiral Taverns. The large public bar is well equipped for pub games and a separate lounge is available for TV sports. The chip shop opposite is recommended but closes early.

You may strike lucky and find a real ale in here (probably Sharp's Doom Bar), but it's a bit off the main Oswestry visitor track to risk a detour if you are only visiting for a beer.
