This fine hotel is set in the middle of beautiful Dartmoor National Park and is open to non-residents. Walking, trekking and canoeing are just some of the attractions close by to the hotel, which is set in its own 60 acres of grounds. Up to three real ales are available, including Dartmoor Jail Ale. An excellent range of locally sourced and produced food is available at both lunchtime and in the evening (currently only available to hotel residents, April 2024), as well as afternoon tea. If dining, booking is advisable to avoid disappointment. The bus service is very limited.

There are two dedicated disabled parking bays at the front, level access through double swing doors at the main entrance, and level access to the bar and ground floor lounge and restaurants. The fully adapted WC is along a short corridor to the left of the bar, next to the gents.
