Upmarket Fullers pub originally opened by Marstons in 2008 in a former bank premises. Retains grand façade with large open plan interior with grey décor in modern style, wooden flooring, exposed ventilation, mix of furniture etc. Balcony area overlooks street. Open-to-view kitchen with traditional British menu. There is also a basement cellar bar.
Historic Interest
Grade II listing:- Early C20; stone faced; 3 main storeys with attic above the main cornice and a further attic and dormered roof storey set back behind parapet; 5 bays to Moorgate; return elevation to Kings Arms Yard. Channelled base with channelled tuscan pilasters; square headed tall openings with console keystones; entablature at 1st floor level with mutular cornice above which giant attached unfluted Corinthian columns unite the 1st and 2nd floors, carrying an entablature with pulvinated frieze and modillions; 1st floor windows with alternating triangular and segmental pedimented hoods with carved open tympana with ram's heads, etc; attic with projecting piers and crowning balustrade.
