The Three Tuns was located to the east of the town centre, and traded from 1869 until 1963. It was demolished shortly after closure and the site is now occupied by a DIY emporium.
The archive images (thanks to www.dover.kent.com for sharing) suggest that around the turn of the 20th century it was probably part of the tied estate of Dartford brewers C N Kidd & Son, and would have fallen into the hands of Courage when they acquired Kidd's in 1937. By the late 20th century the whole area of Dartford and the Darent Valley was dominated by London giant Courage and many saw this as inappropriate.
