This Pub is Permanently Closed
This pub closed permanently on 7/7/2019
Situated close to impressive, but now defunct railway viaduct, this small, family-run pub was converted over 40 years ago from 150-year-old railway workers' cottages. A low-beamed roof and real fire help to create a cosy atmosphere on colder days.
There is a large outdoor drinking area complete with petanque courts. Up to three beers are served, mainly from Scottish micros.
Closed Monday tp Wednesday and usually closed in afternoons but may remain open after 2pm if trade allows. Perhaps best to phone for confirmation of opening times if travelling to pub, especially in winter months.
Various proposed sales during the past couple of years have fallen through and the pub still continues as before with the same owners as previous. No longer doing food but still selling Real Ale, mainly from the Belhaven list. Four rooms (not en-suite) are still available.
