This Pub is Permanently Closed

Was a characterful drinkers' pub. Finally closed August 2012 after having been periodically open & closed over several years. Demolished mid-December 2012.

Historic Interest

Historically listed at 110 & 112 Handford rd., although listed at 100 in 1871. The 1909 Ipswich Rate book lists the pub as just the "Jolly Sailor". An advert in the The Bury & Norwich Post** on Tue 13 March 1866 lists this pub as part of the sale of Stonham Brewery together with 26 other premises.
