This Pub is Permanently Closed
This was David Bruce's third venture into pub breweries in London and the only one that comes within the scope of this guide. Although the chain is now owned by Midsummer Inns these pubs still attract a cult following and this one is no exception. Rough-and-ready in appearance with no jukeboxes or machines but a fairly regular piano player, this is a pub that is well worth seeking out. Take a look at the brewery through the glass panel inset into the floor. House beers are kept under a blanket of CO2 in cellar tanks, but not the guest beers. Formerly the Tavistock Hotel which was built in 1873
The brewery was removed in 1995 when the pub proceeded to go under a number of the names listed above finally closing in 2009 and demolished the following year.
