It was in the Phillips family for 150 years, but in 2023 was bought by the local community, who now run it as a village pub and community hub. Regular pub quiz, darts evenings and live music. In July 2023 Y Cross Cas-lai (a registered Community Benefits Society) received £244,250 from the Community Ownership Fund. They completed the purchase of the freehold in 2023 and reopened the pub in November 2023.
