Detached Thatched pub situated in a row of houses - careful you'll miss it. Reopened in June 2024 with a new investor joining the two previous owners. The interior is bright and airy with very comfortable furnishings.
There was a campaign back in 2018/19 to raise funds from villagers to buy the pub but this was unsuccessful. It was then purchased by four local businessmen/women, though these were not villagers, or former patrons. The pub reopened in 2019. It closed in 2022 but reopened this year with a new investor buying out two of the four previous owners. This new investor is rumoured to be buying out the two other remaining owners to become the soul owner. He is a villager and has been a regular of the pub for very many years. I have lived in the village for 11 years and he has always supported the pub as a customer. I think it is a discredit to these local investors of the pub, especially the most recent investor, to represent the Swan as community owned/run pub as if it were saved by the community, it wasn't. Villagers had the chance to buy it but only a few of us were prepared to invest, and it was thus left to individuals to save the pub. The pub is poorly supported considering the population of the village although patronage seems to be increasing under the new management. Aside from those of us that do support the pub I do not think that the community deserves the credit, whereas the individuals do.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 0 regular beers.
