This Pub is Permanently Closed
Built in 1850, the pub closed in 1971 to become the club house of the mens own rugby club until they relocated to their new ground and club house in 1982. The pub then re-opened as the Spread Eagle again. This is an end of terrace pub near a busy traffic junction recently refurbished on a main road. The bar area is U-shaped with seating and further seating to the front of the pub. There is a strong association with the local Irish community that provides a comfortable, homely atmosphere in the pub. Closed January 2025, and approval given in October to convert to a restaurant. 2025/2608 approved 01/09/2025
