This is an other drinking establishment and you may be charged for entrance at certain times.
Now a Guest House.
The Spiggie Hotel has reopened as the Spiggie Guest House. It was taken-over in November 2017, having closed in October 2016, when the previous owner retired.
It now sells one Real Ale, currently Lerwick IPA on handpump. However, this is not available at quiet times during the winter months (except around Burns Night and Valentine's Day). The bottled Lerwick IPA is normally available though. The bar may be open at other times, but 'phone first to check.
Fish & chips are served on Friday evenings and roasts are served on Sunday lunchtimes.
The hotel was built as the original terminus of the Northern Isles ferries with small stone floored bar and adjacent restaurant on elevated site, with various scenic views. The gleaming white Scousburgh Sands are within five minutes walk with Sumburgh Head, Jarlshof and Old Scatness a short drive away. Birdwatching and and trout fishing on the loch may be arranged. Phone to check food availability and opening hours in winter. Please see Facebook page for fuller details.
