This Pub is Closed Long Term
Large Greene King pub at the corner of Burlington Road, bars on three levels plus an upper floor function room. Reopened July 2019 after major refurbishment to both interior/exterior. All handpumps removed when visited June 2021.
It was sold to new owners in August 2026 and will reopen as a pub.
Historic Interest
Built in the 1920 as a private residence, by the early 60s it was operating as a "high class dining club", where the famous comedian Jack Douglas was the chef. It finally became a pub in the late 60s.
