This Club is Closed Long Term
This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.
Formerly the Farnham Liberal Club, but rebranded and reopened in May 2021 at South Street Social Club, open to all.
However the club closed in August 2023 stating that this was "due to ever increasing debt , Covid & the way peoples habits changed after , the extortionate utility bills, constant price increase of beer & spirits & lack of use of the club by 70% of its members"
In June 2024 planning permission was approved to convert the club to a pub and restaurant.
Historic Interest
The building was specifically designed for the Liberal Club in 1894 by the architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. It was his first complete Georgian Building and was built with a mortgage provided by Arthur Chapman of Crooksbury, Chairman of Farnham Liberals.
