Historic Interest
The old Lord Nelson, this pub is located in Nottingham City Council's Lace Market Conservation Area. A more recent incarnation was as the Image Bar. The Lord Nelson was a John Smiths tied pub. In 1874, the Lord Nelson was a fully licensed establishment under victualler A. Richardson (Wright). The old Lord Nelson had a viewing panel showing the old well inside the pub. This no longer appears to be visible to the public.
The cave cellars measure 9m x 17m and include a meat cellar and a barrel thrall. [Referenced MNU 68 and BGS Cc2].
