The Sir Walter Raleigh is a superb community run 16th century free house pub in the village of East Budleigh, the birthplace of Sir Walter Raleigh. The quirky thatched building has numerous nooks and crannies inside with a rear walled beer garden at the back. Four real ales and normally three tubs of real cider are served to quench your thirst with award winning locally produced food served at meal times. The pub hosts an annual autumn beer festival plus monthly events of all sorts. The Sir Walter Raleigh is a country gem and well worth a visit. A free car park is available in Hayes Lane opposite the pub.
