Possibly dating back to 1758, definitely named the Ship, sometimes the Princess Royal (after a locally built ship) by 1787 and listed as the Princess Royal in Pigot's Directory of 1822-23 and 1828-29 and listed as the Ship in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850. Demolished and rebuilt in 1859.
