This Pub is Temporarily Closed

Quirky small bar accessed up steps from narrow courtyard off the Market Place (between Cop-op and Post Office). Regular music nights take place in the bar, which features bare floorboards and exposed beams. A further room is up another flight of stairs and outside is a pleasant patio area. The two hand pumps always feature well-kept Pennine Brewery beers. New tenant, who also runs the town's Green Dragon and also the White Bear, took over in July 2025, so changes may be forthcoming.
