An old pub of character with an L shaped open plan lounge. A bay window overlooks the beer garden and play area on a former bowling green. There is an ancient, rebuilt dry archway in the extensive, well maintained garden plus a decked non-smoking area and a spacious lawn with benches and a well-equipped play area. There is an abundance of flowers and plants and the pub is a former Pubs in bloom award winner. A popular quiz is held on Wednesdays. An outside kitchen serves tasty barbecue food to be eaten either outside or in the roomy garden lounge on Summer weekends, also used for weddings and functions. On Winter Sundays, soup, roast potatoes and hot baguettes (with quality meat from the local butcher) are available.
