Old smugglers/pub restaurant on the beach. Some say it dates from 1593, and others say 1686, but there more likely it is 19h century.. At one time renamed Old Sailors, but has now reverted to its original 19th century name, Sailor's Safety. One romantic explanation of the name is that a light used to be kept burning as a guide to ships or to warn smugglers that the revenue men were around. From the garden there are views across Fishguard Bay to the ferry port. This is a convenient stop for refreshment between Newport and Fishguard when walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal path.
Local seafood is often on the menu. It was visited by Dylan Thomas at least once.
