Traditional Victorian street corner community pub.
A lovely family run community pub winner that raises money for several local charities including the Midland Freewheelers (Blood Bikers), who transport blood supplies to local hospitals etc. Friendly one room hostelry, a short walk or bus ride from the city centre serves a wide range of real ales from Carlsberg's portfolio along with 4 guests. Pub and local history and maps are on display, including a list of former licensees.
It is headquarters for the Royal Oak netball team, darts and domino facilities are available, and ‘open mic’ nights are held every Tuesday evening.
This dog friendly pub hosts live music every Friday evening, and live sport is also available.
An outside function room/venue has recently been added. The ‘Jam Shed’ has proved to be a very useful addition to the pub.
Seasonal hours apply during winter months.
