At the centre of village life, the Riverhead is a modern brewpub owned by the Ossett Brewery. The microbrewery is visible from the main bar, beer doesn't get more locale than this. A refurbishment in February 2024 has seen the pub decorated throughout and extended into adjacent buildings to create more seating areas including the new Bank Room, complete with wood burning stove. Nine beers are served: four to seven Riverhead beers, two from Ossett as sometimes guests. A dark beer is usually available. The upstairs room has comfy seating and outside there is a riverside terrace for alfresco drinking. A popular venue for locals, visitors and their dogs. Huddersfield CAMRA Pub of the Year 2023.
