This Other Drinking Establishment is Closed Long Term

This is an other drinking establishment and you may be charged for entrance at certain times.

Music venue with admission charges.

Originally known as the Noahs Ark Pub which became the Weights and Measures Office in 1970. It reopened as a pub, the Surgery, on the 14th June 1999. Following this there were various changes in identity. An upstairs room was available for functions and meetings. The pub closed suddenly in February 2013 and reopened in July 2017 as a music venue with admission charges.

"Housed in the former Stafford Pie & Ale House and opened by the former owners of The Cellar Bar on Foregate Street, the concert venue plays host to a variety of live music events".

Stafford Borough Council purchased the area for redevelopment. The pub, which remains, was partially embedded in the Indoor Market which has been demolished. The lease was terminated i February 2026 and the premises closed. It is not known what the property will be used for when the development is complete.

Historic Interest

Associated with Palmer the Poisoner, it was run by his mother.
