This Pub is Temporarily Closed
Pub currently closed but a Community Group is currently trying to buy it, the Parish Council having registered it as an Asset of Community Value.
This early 19th century thatched, stone-built pub has a totally refurbished, modern interior with stripped wood floors, original farmhouse features and oak beams.
But there is still a bar with four handpumps (currently only two or three in use) and seats, with drinkers very welcome.
Aunt Sally team plays there during season (May-Sep).
Active Campaign
The Red Lion in Little Tingewick (Finmere) was closed by Fullers in Autumn 2023 and - fearful of their pub being sold for housing - the local community decided they wanted to save their local, the only pub in the village. Shortly afterwards, their next closest pub also shut down. The pub was registered as an Asset of Community Value, the community group, the Red Lion Community Group Limited (Community Benefit Society), negotiated an agreed price with Fullers and the community group are now seeking investors or simply a contribution to their fighting fund. They are well on their way to their starting target (with almost £250K raised and over 50 members by Apr 2025), but they would welcome more funds if anyone is interested (the minimum investment is a low £250). Their business plan and a form to invest (or contribute) is available on the group's website.
