Probably Skipton's oldest pub built in 1205, the Red Lion also claims to be Skipton's most haunted. Serving up to eight cask ales, a mixture plus two or three from the Greene King range, it can get busy at weekends and when major sporting events are shown on the large-screen TVs; the tasteful smoking area at the back also has a TV. The main bar features a large original fireplace and there is a small, quieter room set back from the hubbub of the bar. There is disabled access to parts of the pub including toilet facilities via the rear door, but there are steps to the bar.
