Grade 2 listed building of late-medieval origins (including the rear yard), the Red Lion was listed as an inn as early as 1684. An extensive refurbishment (Feb 26) saw more large-screen TVs added. It can get busy at weekends and when major sporting events are shown, including on a screen in the smoking area in the rear yard. The main bar features a large original fireplace and there is a small, quieter room set back from the hubbub of the bar. Tables can be booked for food, drinks and sporting events.
