Traditional wet-led establishment which is both homely but spacious. A music-free environment where community issues dominate the conversations between the local clientele. One of the two fires is a real log fire which adds further character. The epitome of an unspoilt classic public house which has been largely unchanged for several decades. Opposite the pub is a colliery wheel memorial recognising the pit head workings which operated in the area until 1989.
