Situated at the top end of Honiton High Street, the Red Cow has a retro décor with intimate areas around the sides. There is a display of chamber pots hanging down from the rafters. The building dates back to 1795, and is two cottages made into one, hence the two fire places. Good-value home-cooked food, sourced from local produce where possible, is served lunchtimes and evenings, including traditional Sunday roast, and there are up to three real ales on offer, usually from local breweries. En-suite bed and breakfast accommodation is available. There is outside seating and smoking area, and the pub is family and dog friendly.
