Superb 1750 country inn with spectacular views across Tyne Valley. Open log fire surrounded by several chamber pots hanging from the ceiling. The pub has a welcoming and friendly feel to it. Excellent local reputation for good food prepared with ingredients locally sourced. Pub appears in several good food guides. If not driving, well worth the short taxi ride from Hexham Rail Station. Half portions for children. First Thursday of each month singers/poetry night. Stocks bottled beers.

Opening hours and beer range may extend in summer.
