An isolated pub with a scenic setting on the bank of the river Deben. Food is mostly locally sourced and features fish and vegetarian options. The pub is child and dog friendly. Often best to check opening hours before trying to visit during winter months as they may change.

During spring and summer it is a very popular location for walkers, sailors and bird-watchers. Local photographs featured on the walls include details of the crew of a World War Two aeroplane which crashed in the adjacent river whilst making a flight from a nearby airfield. Pictures are from local artists. Car Park free for 3 hours when using pub.

Historic Interest

Opened April 28th 1908, when the license was transferred from the nearby Dock Inn.

This pub features in the film 'Yesterday' where Jack Malik (played by Himesh Patel) sings the Beatles song "Yesterday" in the beer garden.
