The large, single open plan room has modern yet comfortable decor with a neutral colour scheme that is aimed towards diners. However, there is an area primarily for drinkers that includes settees and soft chairs. Some old pictures show the former railway line and station across the road, which is now the route of the A650. Well-behaved children are welcome until 9 pm. The paved area outside has many benches with fairy lights around the perimeter and views over the Kirklees Way and Spen Valley Heritage Trail (footpaths) that are only 200 meters away.
