Historic inn established 1725 situated close to Kelso Abbey. The split level bar and lounge/eating area have wood panelled floors and part exposed brick walls, giving it a brasserie-like feel. The striking bar counter has one handpump and an impressive range of spirits on the optics behind. Good value meals are served all day, including pizzas, burgers, pub classics with more special dishes on the evening menu. There is a children's menu. The toilets are accessed through the through the rear courtyard area. Multiple Best Bar None award winners. Changes for 2025 are expected to include ordering food by QR code.
