This Pub is Closed Long Term
Records for this pub date back to 1627 but the current building, faced with green glazed brick, dates from 1927. The premises lay empty for some years, before restoration in traditional style by Sam Smiths, and reopened in 1992. A rare outlet for Sam Smiths this far north, it is well worth a visit. Close to the fish quay where the fish and chips are renowned there is a replica 'wooden dolly' outside from which the pub takes its nickname.
