A city-centre Wetherspoon outlet with a long sprawling bar area which has various seating layouts and attracts customers of all ages and backgrounds. An interesting selection of guest beers is available, with a noticeable commitment to local breweries. Real cider is always available. Photographs on the walls feature many local dignitaries associated with the area's industrial past, particularly ceramics and pottery. A CAMRA notice board is present and beer suggestions accepted.
