Portland House was opened in February 2015 by Welbeck Abbey Brewery. In December 2017 it was taken over by industry novice Lance Worthington. A Photographer and Designer, Lance learned the trade in a New York bar and has applied his design flare and customer service skills to transform the bar to what it is now.
Portland House has two constantly rotating cask ales and eight keg lines with a mixture of ales, lagers and cider from local and national suppliers. The bar also has numerous and varied multi choice of spirits (gins, rums, and whiskeys) and a comprehensive wine list.
The bar has outside seating where you can enjoy the goings on in Ecclesall Road and room inside for over 50 guests. Portland House regularly hosts parties for guests. Plus, if you’re in from 4pm to 7pm Monday - Thursday, the Early Bird session has 20% off everything.
