A characterful and renowned traditional one-room local's bar, with an interestingly distressed frontage. Look out for the old Alloa pub sign outside.
Internally, the garish but tasteful bar is bedecked with various flags and drink memorabilia. To the front, you can sit at the windows (open on the occasional warm day) looking out on the street. At the end of the bar, the brightly-coloured toilet doors have to be studied, not least to discover which is which.
The bar is popular with a wide range of people, and is particularly busy later in the evening, and there’s always interesting music on.
Real Ale from the single pump is unfortunately served erratically, depending on supply.
Children are not admitted.
