This has been an ale house as far back as 1846 when it was called Godlets Hall. A friendly traditional pub hidden deep in the countryside with a large rear garden and gorgeous views.

This pub was under threat of closure in 2024 and is now owned by Pilkington Estates with a manager in place. There are plans to reintroduce food.

Community Owned

Freehold Owner: Private limited Company (1). Year Purchased 2024.

A community group was formed to save this pub. Owners Admiral Taverns submitted a planning application for change of use to housing, but this was rejected after hundreds of objections were submitted. The pub is listed as an ACV. Ley Green Community Asset Limited (a private limited company) negotiated with Admiral Taverns for the purchase of the pub, and after a concerted campaign on May 24th 2024, the purchase was completed.

Directions
Although Ley Green is a small hamlet the pub can be difficult to find. There are brown 'Pub' signs at each end of Plough Lane. The T jct to look for has a phone box and wooden bus stop, turn here and it's 200mtrs. It is best to take a map and if all else fails ask a friendly local.
