17th century coaching inn, although the comfortable interior is entirely modern, albeit with the odd low beam. The large brick-paved beer terrace to the side includes an enclosed children's play area. The entrance leads into the bar area, but there’s also a cosy restaurant area to the rear, leading to an additional outside area. Food is offered from noon, with separate bar and restaurant menus.
