A very large pub and night club on bustling lower St Mary’s Street. Back in the day it was a very popular venue before closing for six years. It has bounced back to regain its place on the city night scene after an extensive refurbishment. Entry at street level takes you past a pavement drinking area into a spacious open plan bar with a small higher-level housing a piano. Once served you may settle in this area or take yourself off to the upstairs levels or to a large downstairs bar. To access the lower section (which is not always open) you pass under a false stone wall into the room which is served from an island bar and has a stage and seating sections off to the side. If peckish, there is an extensive menu catering for most tastes. Happy hours run from 4-10 pm Sun–Thu, and 4-7 pm Fri & Sat.
