Friendly family-orientated pub with large rear garden containing a decked area and a secure children's play area. The pub is open plan on a split level, with a separate tap room/snug/games room. No meals, but sandwiches and pork pies are available. Reputedly the oldest pub in Eastwood, dating from 1779. Full refurbishment was completed in Spring 2018. Pub has a fine reputation for its live weekend music.

The Old Wine Vaults has an entry on Nottinghamshire County Council's Historic Environment Record (HER) No. M9965 and is a Grade II Listed Building (No. 1247989) in Broxtowe Borough Council's Eastwood Conservation Area. Asset of Community Value registered 11th May 2016 and expired 10th May 2021, nominated by Nottingham CAMRA. "Public house. Late C18 and C19. Brick with plain tile and slate hipped and catslide roofs. Rebated eaves. Three gable and single ridge, roof and side wall stacks. Three storeys, three bays. Windows are mainly plain sashes and C20 French windows, with keystoned splayed lintels. South front has central panelled door with overlight, moulded doorcase, shaped brackets and pedimented hood. Flanked by single French windows. Beyond, to right, C19 addition, single storey, with two French windows. Above, three sashes. Above again, three smaller sashes. West end has to left, late C20 flat-roofed addition with two casements.
