Originally a timber-framed building which has been a pub for over 250 years. It is in "L" shaped format, with one bar, but two serving areas, and at the rear a separate pool room. The bar frontage is tiled with old decorated tiles, so unusual that they have a grade 2 listing. A large sandstone fireplace with a real fire available greets you as you enter, but the new tenants have yet to make their mark on the interior decoration, which really needs a makeover and update. Juke Box. (Sep 2011). One of 24 pubs in the Branch area that made it into the second edition of the Good Beer Guide in 1975. It was described as "three rooms with a men only smoke room" and beer available was Bass Worthington Bitter and M&B Mild
