Small bar reputed to be the oldest surviving building in Henley, dating from 1325. It sadly lost many of its original features a few years ago having been opened out into a series of connected rooms with the beers available in the front bar.

Temporarily the Brakspear Original Gravity is served with an old Brakspear Gravity pumpclip on the handpump (as on 24 October 2026).

Celebrated its 700th birthday on 29 March 2025 and unveiled its documented history with a wall of framed photographs and historical information.

Live music Thursday and Sunday evenings from 8pm.

Historic England Grade II* listed, entry number 1369482. Built 1325 with alterations, re-fronted about 1920.

Narrow entrance into the front bar that requires two staff to hold the two doors open to allow wheelchair users access. Small step up towards the rear of the pub and the patio at the rear. Higher step up to the patio. No accessible toilet, No dedicated Blue Badge parking spaces nearby, but the loading bays in Bell Street can be used under the usual Blue Badge rules.
