Located on Manchester road on the way to Altrincham town centre close to the Bridgewater Canal. Whilst there has been a pub on the site since the 1800s or earlier the current pub was built in the 1930s and the interior opened out some time later.
In 2022 the pub was branded as part of the "Craft Union" group and the interior re-furbished. On entry there are areas with tables to the right and left. As you move in the bar is on the left and to the right is the games area with pool table and darts board.
The pub has a wide selection of Sports TV showing of course football but also cricket, Gaelic football, Rugby and horse racing.
There is a Bowling Green at the rear, and picnic areas to the front and rear of the building plus an added undercover heated smoking area.
Large car park to the rear- check with the bar staff on the current procedure for free parking
