This Pub is Permanently Closed

Being converted to community centre (2019).

Was a popular, large pub with a single main servery and several drinking areas.

This pub has a wide selection of Real Ales (8 on hand pump) served in oversized glasses and a minimum of 8 ciders (up to 12 from spring till October) on draught.

Very good quality home made food is now available. Some outside seating in an enclosed garden to front and a new under cover and heated, smoking & dining area to rear together with a wood fired pizza oven.

Live music several nights a week, when the pub can get very busy. Disabled toilet.

Historic Interest

The pub re-opened on Thursday March 29th 2012 after a major refurbishment under its first ever private owner, who intends to run it as a pub with a wide selection of Real Ales & music. The original milestone outside the pub is grade 2* listed, while the pub itself (current building dates from about 1928) gets standard grade 2 listing. Photographs of this pub and more historical information about it can be found at suffolk.camra.org.uk/pub/520
